My morning routine as a new mommy

It’s safe to say that over the past few months my routine has definitely changed, (thankyou motherhood). I had a pretty chill routine during the week on days I wasn’t at university up until the last few months; I was quite far along in my pregnancy and in my final year so lots to do on those busy days.



So here is my updated morning routine.

  • The day starts at 6:45am after a night of getting up every few hours for baby. Drink a glass of water, take my vitamins, use the bathroom then tend to baby.


  • Change and feed the baby (Hope to goddess there isn’t a poopslosion to deal with) then get him dressed.


  • Then it’s time for cuddles on the sofa for an hour or so. I love this he’s always so giggling and cuddly on a morning so it’s great after a long night.


  • Then playtime – we practice rolling, crawling, sitting up. We read books, sing, dance, play with toys the works. We do this for about an hour or so this usually tuckers the Bug out.


  • Then it’s nap time. Whilst baby naps this mummy gets to drink coffee, snack/have breakfast and check her social media. And make herself feel somewhat human.



And there you have it my updated morning routine. It sounds pretty chill but with a baby, it’s changed dramatically and I’m usually exhausted by the time baby goes down for his morning nap, but honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

    This time last year my morning routine consisted of staying in bed late (mainly because of pregnancy backaches, sleepless nights & feeling like a whale I wasn’t able to get up haha) . Now we’re up at 8, had breakfast by 9 and headed out by 10. Then it’s nap time & the morning is over.

    My morning routine has changed a ton since I started working from home. I used to have to be out the door by 7:30am and now I typically work in my pj’s for an hour or so before fully getting ready for the day. Seems luxurious (and trust me, I LOVE comfy clothes lol) but some days it feels like I start working the moment I open my eyes and check my phone.

    I haven’t been through the mommy phase yet, but I do start off my morning with a glass of water! So good for you! And I love you spend your morning pouring into your baby. That will pay off in dividends as he grows!

    I’m not a mother yet. So, my routine is pretty chill in the morning. During the winter time I have all time in the world, during the summer time the routine is quite different because my profession is a bit hectic and dynamic. I bet that will all change once, when the baby comes 🙂

    My morning routine definitely has changed. My day starts at 8 am and now I love to do a workout in the morning. Then work work work:D
